Professional Development

Professional Development

We pride ourselves on providing continuing professional development for colleagues at all stages of their vocational journey. Our philosophy underpins the suite of professional development opportunities that we are able to provide as a Teaching School to support all from Sixth Formers and those thinking of a career in education to those seeking Executive Headship. This continued professional development is provided through the nationally-designed programmes that we deliver across the region. We are delighted to work with a number of high-quality initial teacher training providers, including our internal provider Teach SouthEast. These providers offer both salaried and fee-paying routes into teaching and, in partnership with a university, provide PGCE programmes for colleagues to obtain masters modules.

At Teach SouthEast, we are proud to offer an internship programme,  which provides those interested in teaching with the ideal opportunity to explore life in the classroom. The Early Career Framework supports early career teachers, offering a comprehensive two-year programme for ECTs and their Mentors. The suite of National Professional Qualifications  provides a wide range of specialist and leadership programmes for colleagues wishing to explore their skills in the classroom and leadership roles further.

Alongside these formal programmes of professional development are a wealth of opportunities for colleagues to get involved in subject networks, facilitated by SaFE (Schools Alliance for Excellence) and local curriculum hubs.

We hope that you enjoy engaging with the programmes of professional development on offer across the region. If you have any other development needs, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
