Xavier Teaching School Hub

Dear Year 2 ECTs, mentors and induction leads,

Please find attached the bulletin for Development Cycle 4.  Although DC4 does not start until Monday 27th February, we wanted to send the bulletin this side of half-term, so that you could have details of the upcoming FREE additional CPD on offer, information about the Maths Hub and the link to the induction lead training in March.

The free additional CPD is open to all ECTs and mentors on our ECF programme.  This is part of the enhanced provision offered by the Xavier Teaching School Hub, so please do reserve your place using the link in the bulletin.

Also attached are:

  • Teach First overviews for DC4 (separate documents for ECTs and mentors/induction leads)
  • Teach First’s guidance for mentors on how to access and submit the mid-year survey
  • A copy of the adaptive teacher takeaway task, which was referenced in the third mentor training seminar.

Virtual drop-in clinics

After half-term we will be trialling virtual drop-in clinics, open to ECTs, mentors and induction leads.  These will be designated times when members of the ECF team will be available online to answer any questions or take feedback.  The first clinics have been scheduled to take place on Thursday 23rd February.  We have scheduled two timeslots, at times which we felt might be especially accessible for you:

Clinic 1

8.00-8.30 a.m.

Clinic 2

3.30-4.00 p.m.

The Zoom login details are as follows:

You can, of course, email us at any time, rather than wait for the clinics.

Finally, may we wish you all a very restful and rejuvenating half-term break.

Best regards

The ECF Team
