How to register your ECT with our Appropriate Body (AB)

It is important to register your ECT with an Appropriate Body. When you register your ECT on the DfE portal (Manage training for early career teachers (education.gov.uk) ), you will be asked to select your Appropriate Body, this does not mean that they are automatically registered. To finalise this registration process you will need to go to ECT Manager at https://xaviertsh.ectmanager.com/ and complete the registration process online.

Xavier Teaching School Hub Appropriate Body uses ECT Manager to register ECTs with the Teaching Regulation Agency (TRA) to help manage the completion and submission of all ECT’s assessments over their induction period.  This system will remind schools of the deadlines for completion of Progress Reviews and Formal Assessments during induction.

How to use ECT Manager

  • Registering ECTs, updating school records and changes are the induction tutor’s responsibility.

  • Only headteachers, induction tutors/ tutors and ECTs have login access to ECT Manager.

  • Mentors do not have or need access as they are not directly responsible for the assessment or report writing elements of the ECF induction.

  • Progress reviews and assessments are auto generated by ECT Manager 10 days before their due date.

  • Support plans must be uploaded to ECT Manager by the induction tutor (into the Documents folder).  Support plans must also be uploaded every time they are reviewed.

Any issues encountered whilst using ECT Manager can be resolved by contacting Alison Maingard (a.maingard@xaviercet.org.uk)
